Screening of the Greek film “Eternity and a Day” at the Cinephile Film Club on Thursday, i.e. 3rd August at 6.30 pm, directed by Theo Angelopoulos. The Film was awarded the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The film will be screened in Maquinez palace , Auditorium I, ESG. Details as given below.

Theo Angelopoulos the master film maker directed 15 odd films during his career and made a mark for himself as an auteur. Eternity and a Day won him the top prize at the Cannes film festival and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury in 1988, and remains his best known film. 

A  poetic film about life, death, regret, and memory, Bruno Ganz (who famously portrayed Hitler in Downfall)  plays a middle-aged writer who realizes he doesn’t have much time left. While reflecting on his past, he also comes across a boy who is an illegal immigrant and part of the film delves on their bonding.
