This Thursday, 14th March at 6.30 pm, the Cinephile Film Club of ESG will be screening Wings of Desire (128 mins, 1987, German with English subtitles) directed by Wim Wenders.
It is described as one of cinema’s loveliest tribute to a city. Set in Berlin, Bruno Ganz plays Damiel, an angel perched atop buildings over Berlin. He can hear the thoughts, fears, hopes, dreams—of all the people living below. But when he falls in love with a trapeze artist, he is willing to give up his immortality. The film inspired the Hollywood remake, City of Angels (1998).
