Screening of the Film “Ek Tha Gaon”, which won the Best Non-Feature Film at the 69th National Awards at the Cinephile Film Club on 1st September..

Screening of the Film ” Ek Tha Gaon ” , which won the Best Non-Feature Film at the 69th National Awards recently at the Cinephile Film Club, ESG, on Friday i.e. 1st Sept, at 6.30 p.m. The screening will be at Audi I, Maquinez palace, Panjim.

The screening will be attended by the director, Srishti Lakhera, followed by a Q&A.

“Ek Tha Gaon” (Once Upon a Village, 60 mins) is Srishti’s debut feature documentary that has traveled to more than a dozen festivals around the world and in India, and has won several awards. The film is set in a village in the Himalayan foothills which is now abandoned because of migration – once, there were around 50 families there. With just a handful of people left, one person who refuses to leave is Leela Devi, a feisty 81-year-old lady who lends so much charm to the film. Of the hundreds of films competing for the National Awards, _Ek Tha Gaon_ won the Best Non-Feature Film. (Please note, the screening is on Friday)
