Women’s Day Film Festival in memory of Mandatai N. Bandekar was inaugurated today on 8th March 2018. The opening ceremony was held at Maquinez palace, ESG Complex, Panaji at 6.00 pm at the hands of Shri. Atul Kulkarni, renowned film Actor.
7 times National Awardee and renowned Film Director Smt. Sumitra Bhave, Shri Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Mohan Agashe, Film Actor, Shri Sunil Sukthankar, Film Director, Smt. Madhura Amit Bandekar, representing NRB group, Shri Rajendra Talak, Vice Chairman-ESG and Smt. Mrunal Niket Walke, General Manager-ESG were also present
Shri. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Speaker felicitated the renowned Film Director Smt. Sumitra Bhave. Smt. Mrunal Walke, General Manager-ESG presented the momentos to Shri Pramod Sawant, Shri Sunil Sukthankar, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Shri Atul Kulkarni and Smt. Madhura Bandekar on behalf of Entertainment Society of Goa. Shri Atul Kulkarni and Smt. Sumitra Bhave highlighted the task of making cinema and how it makes the impact on audience. Shri Sachin Chate compared the inaugural function.
The festival would be a four days entertainment bonanza from 8th March 2018 to 11th March 2018 catering to connoisseurs of Smt. Sumitra Bhave’s Award winning movies. The movies will be screened at Auditorium 1, Maquinez Palace, ESG Complex, Panaji. This festival is open to Cinephile Film Club members and general public. Seating will be strictly on first come first serve basis. There will be a Q & A session after each screening with the directors and actors.
The opening movie screened was Devrai and was open to all.
During these four days of the film festival, Smt. Sumitra Bhave’s four films which have won National Award will be screened at ESG as follows:-
8th March ’18, Thursday (6.00 pm) – Devrai
9th March ’18, Friday (6.30 pm) – Astu
10th March ’18, Saturday (6.30 pm) – Doghi
11th March’18 Sunday (6.30 pm) – Samhita
In association with NRB Group, the Sumitra Bhave retrospective will be held in 1930 K Sera Sera Vasco. Devrai on 9th March, Samhita on 10th March and Doghi on 11th March 2018.
