German film “The White Ribbon” to be screened on 1st Feb

The White Ribbon is the winner of several awards including the top prize at Cannes, the Palm d’Or and Golden Globe for the Best Foreign film in 2010. Directed by the well known auteur Michael Haneke, the film is a honest reflection of the society in a small village in Germany, long before Hitler and even before the First World War. A series of incidents occur which throw light on morality, guilt, politics and even religion.
Shot in black and white, the cinematography and Haneke’s direction came in for universal praise
