One of the most talented personalities in world cinema today, Nadine Labaki is not just a director but a very fine actress as well who stars in the film.Caramel was her debut feature which won several awards around the globe and was Lebanon’s official entry at the Oscars.

This is a lightweight yet poignant film about five women in Beirut who often meet at a beauty salon – they are dealing with everyday issues like duty, desire, tradition, aging and more. As one critic said about the film, “Caramel is filled with more dignity, class, and realism than a Sex and the City could ever muster.’
