9th Goa State Film Festival to be held on 3rd May

The 9th Goa State Film Festival 2018 will be held from 3rd May to 6th May 2018.

The inauguration will be held on Thursday, 3rd May at 5.00 PM at Maquinez Palace, Auditorium 1 followed by screening of the film K Sera Sera. The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, 6th May at 5.00 PM. Followed by the screening of best film of the 9th Goa State Film Festival.

Films made between 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2017 were eligible for this festival. In total we received 10 feature films, out of which 9 Konkani and 1 Marathi film and 2 non feature films. The jury for the feature film section were Mr. Girish Kasaravalli (Chairman), Ms. Pratima Kulkarni, Mr. Ashok Patki and Ms. Meenakshi Shedde. The jury for non feature section were Mr. Dhritiman Chatterjee (Chairman), Mr. Amrit Pritam Dutta and Spandan Banerjee.

There are altogether 21 awards in feature film section with Best first film Rs. 5 lakhs, best second film Rs. 3 lakhs, best direction 1st place Rs.50000 and 2nd prize Rs. 35000 and rest all individual awards Rs. 25000 each. In non feature film section, Best Fiction Film Rs. 1 lakh and Best Non Fiction Film 1 lakh and other 4 awards of Rs. 25000 each. Prize for Best Film is Rs. 20000

All films participated in this State award competition will be screened for public from 3rd to 6th May 2018 at Maquinez Palace 1 & 2 and it is open for public on first come first serve basis.
